Dear Parents,
I welcome you and your children to a new and exciting school year. This is a special and exciting year since St. Mary’s Central Catholic School will be celebrating its 50th anniversary! Many activities are planned throughout the school year and I look forward to seeing you there.
At SMCCS we are proud of our educational academic excellence with emphasis on spiritual growth. We stress a strong school community with high academic standards. It takes all members, parents, students, teachers, and administrators working together to achieve such excellence. Each one plays an important role to develop and promote cognitive and spiritual growth.
Home and School is an integral part of parental involvement. Becoming an active member and participating in the various functions will be an important way to model educational involvement and excellence to children. Active parents are also involved in homework, school activities, and building relationships with teachers, staff, and administrators. It is also imperative that parents provide a structured study time at home, keep a close eye on grades, and do it all with a positive attitude, much love, and affection.
During these trying times with the economy as it is, it is also a difficult challenge to keep the school finances healthy. The Home and School officers have great ideas and have been working hard the majority of the summer getting ideas for fund-raisers. I encourage you to participate in these fund-raisers as it helps us grow as a family and a community.
I am thrilled about this new year. My role is to serve you and your children in any capacity. Let us all ‘Catch the Spirit’ and may our most Blessed Mother Mary intercede for us as we start our new school year.
Blessings,
Josie Mediano, Principal
